Beginners travel guide to Brasil

For the first time visiting a trip to South America may seem like a culture shock, but not only is Brazil the largest country in South America but it is also the most tourist friendly. As well as featuring a wide range of attractions, it also has a well maintained travel network, vibrant culture and a wide range of comfortable accommodation.

One of the most important things that first time visitors must be aware of is Brazil`s climate which varies significantly depending on where in the country you choose to visit. The north of the country features hot and wet tropical weather, the northeast features dry desserts, the south features a temperate climate and central Brazil features a slightly milder tropical climate. Visitors will need to be prepared for hot weather by seeking adequate sun protection but will also have to pack items suitable for heavy rain and cold weather if planning to mountain climb.

Another important concern for visitors is orientation, navigation and transport. Brazil five main regions with twenty seven cities with the main cities being Sao Paolo, Rio De Janeiro, Salvador and the capital Brasilia. There are several main airports with the busiest being Sao Paolo`s Guarulhos airport. Several airlines operate flights to Brazil from a number of destinations across the world and some of Brazils more remote regions can be reached by a connection flight from Brazil`s domestic airports. Travelling within Brazil`s cities is stress-free with extensive transport networks including buses and trains. Also, travelling between cities is fairly simple using the bus service but there is a limited cross country rail network. However, travelling around remote areas, particularly jungle regions, is more limited and is usually reserved to either travel on foot or by road and in some areas of the Amazon only by boat.

In terms of where to visit one of the countries most exciting cities is Sao Paolo. The city is the seventh largest in the world and features several opportunities for shopping as well as visiting a number of excellent museums such as the popular football museum. Another essential city to visit is Rio De Janeiro, famous for its gigantic Christ the Redeemer statue as well as its vibrant and lively carnivals. For a taste of real wildlife visit some of the Amazonas region which encompasses verdant jungle as well as several cities such as Manaus which is a good base for exploring. The central western part of Brazil also offers a number of excellent opportunities for exploring nature and wildlife with the world`s largest wetlands.

In terms of accommodation there are a number of options. There are several hostels, hotels including several exciting top secret hotels. Alternative options for accommodation include apartments and even staying with families to get a real taste of Brazilian life.
